Sounding like a beautifully melancholy mash-up of Elliott Smith, (Sandy) Alex G and Mazzy Star, Virginia-based musician Erik Phillips (formerly known as Cat Be Damned)'s latest single 'Wrong' is equal parts sombre and soothing. Phillips' intimate vocal delivery is the star of the show on this one, as waning slide guitar, gentle tremolos and minimal drums hang off his every word. Discussing the track Phillips said: “I wrote “Wrong” because I wanted to make my own version of a country song—the final recording owes itself to a slide guitar part played by my friend Jeff [Casazza].
